The last two days have been so much fun. Since I am not doing electrical work any more and I probably won't find a job for these last four weeks, I have been doing work around the Buckley's house. Monday and Tuesday I cut, split and stacked wood! It feels so good to earn your dinner like that. These are some pictures of my work. And for all you purist out there, the wood was split by hand with an 8 lb maul.
Thank you to my caregroup for sending me such an excellent "care" package, in the CozyCare ultra thin diapers box. Well done.

Isn't it interesting to look back in your life......to remember days at Kingswood when Dad wanted the wood pile up to "here".......and now seeing how "easy" it was for you to split wood for the Buckley's? We smile about Dad and his "wood piles"......but we also really appreciate how your Dad taught you all how to work and how good it feels to "earn your dinner". I am so proud of you. You are a real man.

Tis true what your momma said. I was thinking about Kingswood too. One never knows what things we learn in life that will be useful in other ways to serve other people. And with that beard you are definately a real mountain man.
I bet you worked up a nice appetite chopping that wood. I'm sending you a virtual Snicker Bar right now.

Mmmm...i hope you're able to enjoy that virtual Snicker's bar even more because of actual experience with the sweet treats in your care package . . . .hmmm, wonder if the packaging gave you any clue as to who from our caregroup was in charge of shipping it?

Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving at home next week Chris, even if you get a sultry southern surprise with the weather!

I love how there's a golden retriever in that top picture. Do you play basketball with him?

I was gonna send a butter-fingers bar with the care package, but what a waste just for a little joke!

Sweet Chris! I know exactly what you mean about splitting wood. Its such a great feeling; wrangling big logs onto a block, hitting them as hard as you can with a maul, amassing a big pile of conquered lumber, earning your keep, all that stuff . . . I love it. Thanks for serving, man, keep it up. I'm still praying for you; can't wait till you get back.

Did you have the best time ever with the brothers this weekend? You better not have them locked in your basement...Livi needs a few of her uncles around. We are counting the days till we see you. Get in that El Cameo, roll the windows down and let your beard catch the breeze on your way south. Oh and drive carefully, there will be many drives out there wanting to race your super sweet ride.

I've stumbled here, fellow Catalyte. I have heard wonderful reports of how you have blessed KoG! I pray that God blessed you richly in return! Thank you for taking good care of my church

If I open this blog up again and find a large pile of wood I am going to be sad. YOu mean to tell me nothing has happened since you split wood?! Did you have company and make a trip home and go outside of your house or something? I mean really, take 5 mins and update us already!!
